Calibaration of the garmin 305 footpod

I've got the garmin 305 footpod.  I tried calibrating it, but did it in lane 4 of our local outdoor track which is now covered w/ ice and snow.  I have a coworker who has access to an accurate indoor collegiate track.

If I have him calibrate my footpod will it be accurate when I wear it?

  • No, you need to do it yourself. The foot pod will estimate stride length distance. You can also calibrate it on a known distance other than a track, or if you would rather wait until the snow and ice disappears, you can use the estimates that come with the foot pod out of the box.
