Bike Cleaning / Overhauling
My bike needs a serious cleaning. Here's a list of some things that need to be done:
Brake levers stick when I squeeze them.
Shifters are hard to pull.
Bars don't want to turn easily. (This isn't a problem when riding, but I notice it when I'm just pushing my bike)
I probably need all new cables.
I need a new chain.
Those are things that I can think of off of the top of my head. Last year before Louisville I had some of these things done, but nothing since. The guy I took it to actually took the right shifter apart and scraped off all the salty stuff and put it back together, so I was thinking that needs to be done.
Are all of these things something I can do myself (I'd prefer to do 'em)? Anyone have any recommendations on some how to guides?

I'm not a bike mechanic, but your list makes me think of the following:
• Maybe you need new cable housings as well as cables; derailleur lubing might help as well. Those are things "anybody" can do.
• You need your headset looked at, and maybe even replaced, That's a much bigger deal - I stay away from those and bottom brackets.
