  • Chart from NovOS to date.

Dip in ATL during VO2 max sessions - doesnt show it but they sucked!

Spike in ATL was 5 day backcountry ski of 68 miles

Dip in April was tapor to Boston

Recent weeks have been a balancing act with fatigue.  Seem to be coming around this weekend.  Looks good for being rested come race day.

  • Dave, you got some masive delta between TSB and CTL. I'd be an injury waiting to happen if my TSB got that low....... How does the fatige feel for you?

Looks like there is great potential in there. Bet your gonna really do well at LP.
  • Tired, been living on the knife's edge of injury. Hope to shut it down this week and feel rested for race day. Took the bike out this morning for a 5 mile shake down ride after major overhauls yesterday and thought to myself "Man, I hope these legs find some life over the next few days." Probably the hardest I've ever trained for a race. Feel different from other build ups to 1/2's. I don't feel as fast, but I feel like I can go at a decent pace for a long time. We'll see. Mentally tougher for sure!!
  • I hear ya. My last effort was yesterday. Did the 2.5 hr ride and stretched the run to 55 minutes as a 'Pace Rehearsal'. Held first gear for 30 then to 2nd gear for the rest. The run was EP + 30 (mostly) for 6 miles. My only goal was to hit my numbers without going over - which I have been having trouble with lately. All went well. No spikes and was feeling confident in holding down to the early, easy paces.

Definitly want to get some HARD rest the remainder of the week.

stay healthy and get some sleep.
  • You are both carrying a lot more CTL into the race than I did last year (probably due to more consistency in training). You should feel confident about your training, and focus on getting rid of fatigue between now and the race. Do everything you can to show up to the race feeling rested and fresh.
  • Resting up at 100IF today. Just a note, I add in swim workouts as 1 hour hard =100TSS, ratio down from there, so if its 45 min at sub threshold, I would SWAG it as say 55-60TSS
