Poweragent mph funny business

So I'll start by saying I'm slow but working on getting my fitness back after 3+ years of life challenge. Been riding more this month and noticed that I'll do 17.1 miles in exactly an hour but the ave speed in Poweragent will be 16.44 or todays 50.07 mi ride in 2:52:48 was listed at 16.86 but the log I put it in calculated from time and distance to be 17.39 mph. What's up with Poweragent?

I use a Garmin 500 on the bike I rode today and the LYC on the 17 mile trainer ride. Both bikes have different hubs too with the 17 mi on the trainer on a SL hub and the 50 miles outside on a new pro+ hub(my graduation from residency present to myself was another powertap wheel). So different sets of equipment so it acts like poweragent is the common denominator. Anyone else noticed this or know why it happens?

Thanks for comments in advance.

  • Lynne, I have noticed these discrepancies as well in PA. I have had nothing but problems and inaccuracies in almost all DATA in the JOULE and PA. I am tired of trying to figure it out and received very little help from SARIS. Ordered a Garmin 500 yesterday. So I dont know if your problem lies in the LYC or PA but my guess is both.

    Good Luck Tim,
