New Mac OS Issues

For those of you running Mac OS and thinking about upgrading to Lion:

I just did and TP's Device Agent no longer works.  They are aware of the issue and are working on a fix.  From the TP forums:

We are aware of the issue uploading workouts from Device Agent to TrainingPeaks.com when running on Mac OS X Lion. We are currently coordinating an updated version of Device Agent that will include a fix for the upload issue as well as other new features and fixes and hope to do so in the coming weeks.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but can offer a simple work-around in the meantime. Please open your Timex Global Trainer Device Agent for Mac and download your workouts as usual. Before you click 'Save', change the 'Save To' location to be 'Disk' by double clicking on the Save To TP icon within

your Device Agent window and change it to the 'Disk' icon. Now click 'Save' button, your workouts will now be saved to the hard drive. Then from the 'File' menu select 'View Saved files'>'Saved Folder'. Open the 'Saved Folder' and find your account username folder, within which you will find your saved workout files. Drag and drop select workouts onto your desktop. Now you can manually upload these workouts (one at a time) via the Quick View. To do this, please open the quick view of the workout

(from your TrainingPeaks Calendar view) and go to the Summary Tab. Now select the 'upload device file' and browse to the file on your desktop. More information on this can be found here: http://

You will also want to check your Queued File folder ('View Saved files'>'Queued Folder') for previously queued workouts and manually upload those as well. Once these queued files have been successfully saved to your TrainingPeaks account, please delete them out of the 'Queued folder 'as to prevent duplicates being sent to your TrainingPeaks account once the updated DA is released.

I hope this clarifies and gets you going for now. Please stay tuned for our release of the fully compatible Mac Lion Device Agent here: http://support.trainingpeaks.com/whats-new.aspx

Thanks!

  • Thx for the heads up. I haven't switched to Liion yet. Please let us know when this fix happens.
  • Tom, is WKO+ compatible with Mac OS now?  I checked with TP back in January and their tech support said it's only compatible with Windows or an Intel Apple, neither of which I have.

  • no, WKO is not Mac based. Bummer! They don't seem in any hurry to build out the mac platform. I really think they are going to push everyone to TrainingPeaks eventually and do away with WKO+, IMO
  • Not quite TP related, but Garmin Ant Agent no longer appears to work for me on OSX Lion. Once I plug my ANT+ usb stick in (for wireless DL on 310xt) the stick will go inactive after about 3 seconds and never download a workout.

    Kind of a bummer.
  • @Trevor, my ANT agent works just fine. Picks off the Garmin 310XT no problem.
