111 Registered for Tri Rally this weekend!! HELP!!

While a $25 camp should certainly keep expectations...realistic...111 people is a lot of people to herd without me busting out the Marine Voice, lining people up in formation, etc, so I'm looking for a few peeps to just help me herd cats .

Presentation Videos, Pictures and Team Video:

I want to video the presentations. I have a FlipCam, but I need someone to:

  1. Bring a tripod
  2. Be Battery Level Accountability Guy/Gal: stop me about 30-40' into each talk to quickly switch out batteries

Also, I'd like to get a Big Ass picture of all the campers as well as a Team Only picture. I'd also like to get quick, 10-15" video introductions/interviews with the members, like we try to get done at the IM team dinners. Can someone pick up this ball for me? 99% chance I'll forget to do these while managing everything else.

Trainer

Can someone bring one to the camp, for me to mount my bike on and talk about gearing, bike setup, etc?

Team Dinner

Let's have a members-only dinner on Friday, about 7-7:15pm. Anyone want to make this happen?

Rally T-Shirts

I'm having about 90 shirts shipped to the camp, all pre-ordered by the campers. I plan to leave the box in the back of the room a sheet with names and sizes for them to check off their shirt as they get it. Can someone manage this for me?

That's all I can think of...for now! Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Rich

  • I can bring a trainer and take the shirt distro.

How many people do we need to seat for the member dinner Friday? Paisan's is a great pizza/italian place near the Monona Terrace but not sure how many they could take as a single group.

  • Brian, dunno about dinner. I have no idea how many members are showing up. Maybe start a dinner thread, brainstorm ideas and RSVP's?

    Thanks for stepping up!

  • I can bring a trainer. I will look to see if I can locate my tripod quickly. I haven't used it for several years. I also am happy to help with the Tshirts. Contact me at wsjinames@gmail.com or 515-451-4711 (voice or text) to let me know what you need.
  • I can bring a tripod, I'll throw it in the vehicle tonight.  I'll be glad to remind you to stop talking after 40 minutes so you can swap batteries...  We'll be in town somewhat early Thursday, mid afternoon, so text/call me if you need assistance 217-556-2951.

  • Seems all is sorted - will follow the thread in case anything else comes up.

On the Friday Dinner (thread in Club House) it seems more manageable if we do team only as R suggests above...
  • I think the Cue Sheet has some problems. It seems to be missing roads/turns and have some turns listed backward. Like on the initial leg toward the loop, from Caine Rd to Hwy M, you need to turn on Whalen Rd (not listed) - then a *right* turn on M, not left as listed. I thought I found a couple of other places with similar issues (Cross Country Rd into Verona). Any chance I'm just reading this wrong? Someone give me a sanity check.
  • Hi all - re: Cue Sheet - let me ping Michele M. for her review - I'm sure she can do the course with her eyes closed!  Like the Paisan's idea for Friday dinner - esp. if the weather is nice - we can sit outside on the terrace.  If inside, that will be more difficult - NOAA's calling for 20% chance of rain.  Sue

  • Rich,

Looks like everything is covered. Let me know if you need anything else done.

  • I think a videographer is still needed if I'm reading correctly.
  • Hey all, Thanks for sending me the email Sue. Brian is correct, the cues for the map have some serious errors. The map itself is correct, but the cues are only about 50% correct. Some of them are missing entirely, and many of them are reversed (right instead of left). I'm pretty sure the one on the Ironman Wisconsin website has correct cues, but the map kinda sucks, and there are no distances. http://ironmanwisconsin.com/course/bike/

I'm sure there are other good cue sheets out there on mapmyride or other websites, but not sure I'll have time to find one this week. If anyone finds one and wants me to review it, I'd be happy to...just send me a private message since I prob won't be on the forums much. Sue is corect, I could prob do the course with my eyes closed. image Looking forward to meeting everyone this weekend!
  • Thanks Michele!! Let me see what I can find and I'll send it over to you for review.
  • Uggg...ok, I didn't bother to check the cue sheet :-)

I'll look for another tomorrow (I don't like MMR, too busy) but if Sue or anyone finds a better one tomorrow, please send it my way so I can send it out to all of the campers. Thanks!
  • Ok, being productive at work seemed over-rated this morning, and working on a cue sheet sounded like much more fun.

  • Awesome! Got your email and will send out shortly!

  • I was just thinking I needed to be productive like that and see if I could find something - thanks for doing this Michele so I can actually get some work done!

  • Holy crap...count is at 116 now...
  • Got the trainer and tripod. Please just confirm. Cheers.
  • WJ, confirm I need them? Yes, I do

  • Good to go. The tripod has a quarter inch (?) screw, not some tiny thing. Also a large enough platform that your camera could just rest on it if the screw isn't compatible. We'll arrive some time in mid afternoon, and catch up with you at the run.
  • Awesome, thanks.
