Sorry to post it as a link [I hate that] but I can't post pics here any longer for some reason I have not figured out. Special thanks to all of you for the support this weekend and throught the years. It was an awesome weekend in LP. It is CRAZY how many EN people are around these days and how supportive everyone is.
Also, FWIW I ran much better than that hear chart would have permitted as it was a high of 91 and my VDOT is 56. I think P crushed it as well. Not sure what that means but something to think about.

Great race, great report - well done.
Have to admit though that I'm kind of shocked to discover you have a last name.
Great race and great job getting it done.
And there is nothing like a good burp sometimes
Congrats on a great race! Man! 10:10 and you didn't qualify! That tells you how freakin' competitive our AG is... Maybe I'll qualify when I'm 80.
Great job on putting up a solid time without a wetsuit. FWIW, I had a wetsuit on and the swim was still scary.
Great RR and race Chris!
What a great day and especially that run split. Watching "big" guys like you and Patrick run that fast is inspiring for the rest of us.
Two thoughts: the heat chart curves show that the faster one is, the less decremental effect heat has on a % basis. Second, I wasn't there, but the weather almanac says the high temp that day was 77, compared to 83 and 87 the two days before.
OK, now I've read your report. Apart from the glaring absence of a subject in most of the sentences (did you skip 5th grade and miss that nasty English teacher?), you really get the whole day across superbly.
You are now officially a Bubble Boy. It's up to you to decide if you're ready to keep riding it up, but that bubble WILL carry you to Kona sooner rather than later. I loved your picture of the sheet Marc Roy lays out at the Hawaii sign-up; the roll down is always my favorite entertainment of the whole weekend.
You expressed it all when you said: 'By the time I got a bit out on river road on the second loop my quads were totally blown. Felt like there was no way I could run any more. My plan was just to do it anyway. Kinda liked the sound of it at the time “there was no way I could run another step but I just said F it and did so anyway” '
You are an Ironman Machine.
It never got nearly that hot. Someone had sent me the almanac data for Lake Placid FLORIDA and I did not look at it that close. I thought it still felt pretty hot out there, expeically that nasty part of river road near the barns where there is no shade at all.
You were great out there. And from a spectators point of view, while the Air temp was "mild" 78-82 the strong sun was definitely beating down and making it feel hotter than it was.
Congrats on putting together a superb race!
Chris - congratulations on a great race! I'm very happy for you. Really enjoyed reading your race report as well and picked up on that nice recovery at mile 95. Way to save your day. See you out there, D
Very detailed and informative report. Going to do LP in 2013. Thanks for posting it.
Very impressive race. Love the report. Planning on doing LP in 2013 and thinking your drink too much on Thursday plan at the pub is the way to go.
Chris,
Great race and report. As stated you are now on the edge. What are you going to do to break through, perhaps get down to a Macca 175? It was great to meet you in person and hang at LP pub.
