Garmin education

In my ongoing efforts to learn how to use my Garmin, I have found that there are a lot of unanswered questions.  My new issue: I go for a run but not all of the data is recorded for some reason,  or not at all (Sunday), or incorrectly.  After I have downloaded to GC or GTC how can I edit the data before I send it to WKO?  If I send it to WKO first, I have to manually calculate the TSS and it still does not show all of the proper info.  On Garmin Connect I go to activities and then try to edit but it only lets me edit the Activity Name, Activity Type and Event Tye, not the distance, pace, etc.  Suggestions?

  • What model do you have? I have a 301 that worked well for years, then starting loosing its mind. I had more zeros for speed/pace than data. It messed up TSS, distance, pace, etc. Live pacing seemed to be OK, but downloaded data was terrible. Upgraded to a 310xt, use the exact same process to download, that is to GTC, then export/import into WKO and everything is fine.
  • I have the FR60. It uses a footpod and heart rate, no GPS. i.e, I had a separate GPS Sunday that recorded the ditance, pace, etc, but the footpod must have been loose and was waaaaaaay off.
  • Not sure about the FR60 and the footpod. Hopefully, someone else can chime in. Just got a footpod late last week, but will be using it for cadence primarily. Good Luck!
  • Have you replaced the battery in the footpod recently? If you do not have GPS, the footpod is the only way the unit knows it is moving. Therefore if the battery is low and the footpod cuts in and out, the unit will autopause or have a bunch of missing data.
  • @Matt: Thanks, it is not a footpod issue, it is a user issue. Idiscovered that the Garmin footpod does not let me alternate b/t shoes without recalibrating like my Polar did. So, I have done some runs and used a separate GPS for speed/distance. Once I know the correct values, I would like to go in and either add the data or correct if there are errors. Again, with Polar I could do that before it went to WKO. I have not found a way to do it with Garmin. It is really a matter of ease, I could manually correct the TSS in WKO but it will still show wrong data. I would think that there is a way to correct that first?
