Help with choosing a Marathon training plan

Just finished up IMLP, took this week off completely, feeling pretty good. Doing and Oly 9/11 and decided I would like to do Richmond Marathon on 11/12 which gives me another week or so  before starting some sort of 12-13 week marathon plan. What has everyone used as a plan? Any suggestions appreciated.

  • Why dont you PM Coach P...he has/had a run-specific training site called Marathon Nation that offered similar to EN run only guidance. He can probably help to get you set up.
  • +1 on Coach P....but also the Hanson Plans are similar in nature to EN...three key workouts/week with a focus on work over mileage...have you run Richmond before?  I think the course is hilly but others disagree.  I had a tough race there in 2009. Good Luck.

     

  • You can also use the marathon hack located in the wiki. Three good runs which you would mix in with bikes or swims. Used by many in the OS and it is no joke.
