Interested in going in on a swimskin purchase? IM Lou, IM Coz, or other peeps?
Thinking about picking up a swimskin just in case water temps are above 76 F for IM WI. May not need it, but you never know. This would be the only time I’d be interested in having such a contraption!
Would be cool if, say, someone doing a different IM with warm water temps wanted a swimskin just for their race and was interested in splitting a purchase with me. Like a IM Lou peep purchasing one, trying it out a few times, racing in it, and then sending it to me. Or I start the process knowing that someone doing IM Coz or another race would take it off my hands afterwards. Or maybe there are even three of us who can work something out. Send me a message if you are interested and we can work out the exact details. I’m 5-10 and hovering btw 140-145 lbs these days.

Interested, though I'm 5'9", 156lb, will be 152lb, and I doubt that both of us would be able to use it at the same time in WI
That said, would much prefer to borrow vs buy one of these things. All swims in Cali are cold enough for a wetsuit.
@Adam - Off Topic: do you swim with your arm coolers on?
Lake Monona was tested at 81 degrees last weekend, and with the crazy weather we are having in the Midwest who knows what will happen...
The only catch is that this in in the bay that is about a mile SW of where we swim, so I'm not sure how much varriance between the two locations.
You can see the water temp drops pretty drasitcally in September/October each year, however the question always is when in Septemeber the cooling will start. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/dv?cb_00010=on&format=gif_default&begin_date=2008-09-01&end_date=2011-08-02&site_no=05429000&referred_module=sw
As Jennifer pointed out we are having a warming than usual year and the water temp data shows that as well, however all it takes is a few days of cold rain to make a pretty big difference.
It is usually very warm in July and August, and usually we get some cold weather and rain in first week of september that gets the temp right below the wetsuit limit. However, keep in mind the wetsuit limit is now lower at 76.1. I know that in 2009 the offical race water temp was 77.9 (and the limit for the Pros was 78 at that time and there were a very very upset people), I wore a full wetsuit and came out very warm that year.
Anyway.... my guess is WTC will do everything they can to find a spot in the lake that is 76 degrees on race morning
Matt, I think you're right, especially after all the hubbub that the no wetsuit call caused at IMUSA.
That said, as an athlete I'm kinda hoping it's not wetsuit legal . As a coach, I want it to be wetsuit legal
