San Diego - what to do/see, etc.
John and I are in San Diego for a few days. Any suggestions for things to do/see/places to eat/places to run?
We may or may not do the zoo. I'll be back for a conference at the end of September, so I'm compiling a list for that trip, too. I'll have an 18 mile run then.

I just gave this list to a friend of mine who's out there too. I'd suggest:
-World Famous, Pacific Beach (www.worldfamous.signonsandiego.com/), for food/drinks
-Rockin Baja Coastal Cantina, old Town San Diego (rockinbaja.com/p-5464-old-town-san-diego.html), for dinner (I suggest the baja bucket - soooo good!), then go down the block to the bar (can't remember the name) for a yard of beer.
-The Field, my favorite Irish Pub (moved stone by stone from Ireland), Gaslamp district downtown (www.thefield.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/events.woa)
-Hotel Del, Coronado Island (www.hoteldel.com/), for drinks on the beach. Make sure to walk around the island a little bit, it's a cool collection of unique/original houses (no two are alike), and the island isn't polluted with chains, etc.
-Anything in La Jolla is great for a day or two.
Those are my highlights! Enjoy, my most favorite city in the USA!
