Week 8 out of 20 IM with a test.

Week 8 of 20 IM plan called for a test week. I tested an increase of 3.2 % improvement on FTP over all that's

25% since inception in house as of Jan, not bad ! The little 2 - 3 % gains add up.

 

The run however still sucks dropping 4 Vdot points in today's 5k with 76 heat index with 98% humidity. The temp really wasn't an issues I thought , I wonder ? I know there is lots of information round here as to " the heat is on " but WTF ? So do I keep my ol vdot values or dummy down ?

 

Accumulated fatigue on legs ? 100 plus miles per week bike rides ? Swimming master group with fins ? Hummm. I wonder ?

 

Thoughts anyone ?

  • David in my view adjusting your 5K tests for temperature to determine your vDOT is valid. If you take the other side of the coin, then one believes temp has no impact on run performance. I wish my run performance supported that view.
