LYC Questions

I recently started using my LYC on my aerobars just so I can havemy current watts sitting right in front of my face.  Two questions:

  • Can you pair the LYC to an ANT+ Speed/Cadence sensor?  I have tried w/o success using the method in the manual.  Hopefully someone knows another way.
  • How do I get rid of the FULL message?

I am not using PowerAgent since all I am using the LYC for is a Cateye display of real time watts.  I use my Garmin 310XT for data recording and found it too inconvenient to try and watch my power numbers while the unit was on my wrist.

Thanks,

Joe

  • Have you considered using the 310XT with the quick release kit?

  • Yes- assuming it's a wireless LYC, you should be able to pair it with a speed/cadence sensor. But the only way I know how to do that is the way the manual indicates. I never really messed with it much and didn't bother with extra sensors- I just used the "Hub" estimated metrics.

You need to clear the memory to get rid of the FULL. If I remember correctly (double check your manual) you do this by pressing and holding the two buttons until the CLR message appears.

I also have a 310XT. I use it instead of the LYC. But I wear the Garmin on my wrist with the face of the watch on the inside of my wrist. This lets me easily see the power numbers with a very small turn of the wrist.
  • I used the hub to estimate my cadence and, after buying the separate cadence sensor, in comparing the two numbers found very little differences.
