Garmin 310XT won't downloads failing

All of a sudden by Garmin won't download the workouts.  It gets to 25% and then the download fails.  I'm also not able to see the details of the workouts that won't download on the device.  I can still send workouts to the device with Garmin Connect.

I have sent an email to Garmin support just wondered if anyone has any experience with this.  This is already my second unit in 18 months...

    Did you update to the latest firmware (3.7) recently?

     

    If so, that's almost certainly it. I had zero problems before 3.7 (and even it was fine for about a month) then wham...problems downloading, having to re-pair, etc. About the best I can say is that *eventually* you should be able to get the data off if you're persistent.

     

    PITA that I'm guessing will only be fixed with the next firmware - which hopefully will be soon because quite a few people seem to be griping on the Garmin forums.

    Ever since I upgraded to 3.7 I have to click the upload button in Garmin Connect and manually upload the workouts. It used to automatically upload.

    Thanks for the feedback guys, I have upgraded to 3.7 version.  I was able to get a few of the workouts by uploading through Garmin Connect, won't work for my long run yesterday.  Also has all of the runs as biking events. 

    It sounds like at least I'm not the only one and that hopefully Garmin is working on fixing the bugs.

    FWIW- I'm facing the same/similar issue. For some reason I just can't get the automatic trasnfer to work. The Garmin User Forum has several threads about version 3.7 being buggy and requiring fixes so it seems many of us are in this boat.

    This may explain why the guy in the shop told me to get my FR305 strap fixed rather than move up to the 310xt...

    Just got the standard reply from Garmin on my inquiry. "Update and then do a hard re-set". I would have thought if it was a known issue, they would have mentioned that...

    @Carly - Probably the standard canned customer support answer for every problem. There are a lot of posts on this issue on their support forums so I am sure they know about it.

    Hopefully they release an updated firmware soon that doesn't break more stuff and maybe adds some features (IF and TSS please).
    Overall I have to say that I still love my 310xt though.

    I stopped by the Garmin booth at a race in June and specifically requested that they incorporate normalized power and intensity factor as data fields. My guess is that Hunter Allen has some claim to own those metrics (along with TSS) as he first created the calculation. But I don't see why Garmin cannot come up with a comparable metric and incorporate that.

    Garmin recently released a firmware update ( https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/fr310update.jsp&#160image with a LOT of "fixes" - might be worth a shot to see if it resolves your problems.

    And for anyone that missed it a while back (re: Garmin Vector release), it looks like the 310XT is slated to get TSS/NP/IF eventually.
