Non-Stinging Sunscreen for IM?
I'm sure this topic has been addressed in the past, but my search-fu sucks. Anyhow, just went out and did my last 90 minute run and spent the last 30 minutes trying not to run into a tree as my waterproof, sweatproof and non-stinging sunscreen proceeded to run into my eyes and burn them like battery acid. Has anyone successfully identified a sunscreen that is widely available (no time to hop over to Australia or the UK to pick up a bottle of some obscure local brand..) and really, truly doesn't burn your eyes? At this point I'm thinking of trying one of the baby sunscreens like Banana Boat Baby SPF 50 to see if that works. Thanks.

I have been happy with the Scape Brand - it got good reviews and have used it in my 2 RR's and no issues. http://www.rei.com/product/816970/scape-athlete-sunblock-lotion-spf-50
California Baby brand. Heavy titanium dioxide physical, not stinging chemical, block. At Target in the baby section. Get the small tube, a little goes a real long way. I use the other the usual brands on body parts other than head.
+1
Use SCAPE all the time now. Used it for IMCDA. Applied at 5AM and that was it. Only place I got burned was where I couldn't reach. Highly reccommend this product.
It works well for me, and you can buy it at pretty much any Walgreens/CVS or chain grocery store near a race
On the bike, my helmet and lowered head position seems to allow me to use little or none on my forehead - although I am balding and cover the top of my head with the stuff. I wear a hat with a large bill so I don't need to use sunscreen on my forehead on the run. As a result I have not experienced any problems with it running into my eyes, although it does run off my face and drips all over my Joule when I ride.
