21 or 23

Recent readings seem to indicate that there is a substantial aero advantage in riding with 21 mm tires vs. 23 mm tires.  That got me wondering - what size tire do the the majority of folks use here is the haus?

I train with 23s but race with a 20 in the front on a Zipp 404. 23 in the rear on my PT training wheel with cover.

For races this year I've used a Bontrager R4 Aero up front (22mm) and in the rear a Vittoria Open Corsa EVO CX (23mm).

20/21 front and rear this year. 20/21 front and 23 rear last year.

Both. I train with 23s. Race with a 21mm up front and a 23 in the rear. If you are not fitted properly the 21 mm tire will make things feel a little "squirrelly."

Why race with 20/21mm in the front? Does 2/3mm make you more aero or is it to reduce rolling resistance?

@ Brandon - I read somewhere in another EN thread that the Bontrager R4s are really fast. That was my whole "research process" !!

I just put Bontrager R4's in a 22mm width on my HED Jet 9/6 combo. Main reason I did this though is that a 23mm tire is a little wide for the clearance between the chainstays on my bike (Blue Triad SL). Did a duathlon this past weekend on them and really liked the way they "felt."
