  • “Furthermore, it is not possible to drink one to one and a half liters of alcoholic beer per day, especially not during strenuous training.”

He could be right about this, but I'd be willing to test this out if he's footing the beer bill.......all in the name of science of course! (Insert old throwing up smilie here)
  • Oh, back in the day I'd take that as a challenge - and a bet I know I could have won.... easily... even if it was 3-4 liters and there was a 1 hour time limit!!

Sometimes I do miss it...... not often or for long, but yes, to enjoy a cold one would be nice......

Really?  It is 2-3 pints a day.  That could easily be absorbed and not effect training.  We might have to do an EN testing protocol.

  • In the interest of science and discovery I will make the necessary sacrifices to do the EN testing.
  • Aha! So THAT's the purpose of non-alcoholic beer.
  • Personally, I think non-alc beer is a waste of the brewing process. LOL
  • At the finish at Roth I couldn't find a sports drink anywhere. Erdlinger, sure. As much as I wanted. Which was none. All the way to Germany for faux beer? I think not.
  • After our Saturday/Sunday climbing rides we often hit a pup for lunch. I get a salad...and a 34oz Guiness

    Ahhh, yeah it is.
  • one more reason to ignore anything in the NYT. Who are the jack wads that drink NA beer or would participate in a study about NA beer anyhow? Anyone who would give up real beer/booze whatever just to do better in recreational athletics is no one that I wish to spend any time with. But then as I spend most of my free time in bars it is not really an issue ;-)
