Week 9/1/12 (9/20, 1/12, 12 weeks to go)
I get very confused by the labels on IM training weeks. I prefer to consider how many weeks I have to go, which is 12 now. Then, there's the plan I loaded, which is the 20 week, so I am in week 9/20. And I'm used to a 12 week build, so I am in week 1/12.
Anyway, I'm just coming off a Big Bike Week, having hit 25 hours of cycling in the last 8 days, with 25 miles of running, 2 hours of swimming, and 2 weight sessions thrown in.
Today, I was able to do *most* of the swim session, but I stopped after the 4 x 400 with increasing sprints, not adding the 2 x 300 due to accumulated fatigue. Than, this afternoon, I'll hit the 3 x 1 mile intervals out on the trail.

@Al - not doing nearly the volume that you are, but share the feeling of fatigue. Can't really imagine the work you're putting in in CO. Overall it's been an excellent 8 week run up to the final 12 weeks. Morning swim done. Nap, check. Heading out for the 3x1 mile shortly.
Thanks, Al. Personally, I like it simple. "12 Weeks To Go" "11 Weeks To Go" etc. works for me.
Rode the tri bike this past week after being on the new road bike for the past few months. Gotta say . . . . the tri bike is way faster with less power output, but . . . . I am having issues hitting the FT #'s that I built up on the road bike the past few months. So I am dropping my FT from 281 to 270 as it looks like I can come closer to hitting the numbers that way and I won't be as discouraged coming off a bike session.
Have a HIM in 9/11 (< 2 weeks) so rode 60/60/30= 150 miles the past 3 days and will continue to work more on my run the next 10 days.
Today I did a pseudo prep for the HIM. I did a 35 minute OW swim in full wet suit and tri kit underneath and then rode 30 miles home from the lake. Was reminded again where my firction spots are in the wet suit. OUCH! I will be doing a full race rehearsal on Wednesday.
i have my recovery from IMLoo yesterday and then i will be jumping right in!
I spent the weekend in Penticton, cheering on our EN'ers. I ran 10 miles saturday morning and then rode the 90 miles of the bike course in the afternoon (96 degrees and lots of wind). Was happy not to ride sunday. I volunteered as a kayaker for the swim so I got some upper body training in but not much else. Today was my real day off as I spent it in line at the 2012 IMC registration and then drove home (8 hours). Back at it tomorrow, will probably add a few miles to the run to make up for the missed workout today.
Let's call these threads "XX Weeks to go" for simplicity sake.
Scott: If it make you feel better, I thought the 12 week plan started LAST week.
