Has any seen an app that will let you record food and comments about meal

 Hi All,

My GI tract seems to be getting more sensitive and I've been looking for an application that will let me enter comments about a meal.  I would also like something that would let me list my food in and around training.  Nutrition and water intake seems to be more of an issue for me than it used to be.   As an example, water intake(drinking too much) on the bike was not previously a problem but seems to be now.

It would be kind of cool to have food log, exercise log and WKO like program all in one place.  I don't know if I'm getting too geeky with it, but I keep thinking that the nutrition and exercise log should be in a single place.  I'd like to be able to look back and see what worked on an epic training day, and also what sucked.

Any thoughts, Ideas, experiences with other programs?

Thanks

Sam

  • Hi Sam,

I actually still use Training Peaks for some of this.  Some people like TP, some hate it - me I have gotten used to it when I got my plans from there before.  I don't add comments for meals and food but there is space there for you if you want to. When I am tracking calories I do record everything I eat in there though. Once you get used to it and get a lot of your normal foods set as favourites it's pretty easy. There is also an iphone TP app that allows you to barcode scan food in if you are that way inclined (I skip that).

For training I copy my workouts from the EN plan into it so I can re-schedule/adjust as necessary and then print out the weeks plan. I have WKO and put all my bike/run exercise data into that, then right click and upload into TP straight away. TP is not WKO'd yet but you still can get TSS/IF/NP etc from there if needed (and skip WKO).

One reason I still go with TP is the integration with other products, jump on my Withinings scale in the morning and bang, is in TP as well - automagically. Finish a swim with my Finis swinsense, upload to their site and also straight into TP as well.

Hope that helps - if have any questions on TP let me know.

  • agreed.  TP is easiest.
