Marathon Hack

Okay...so I am a few weeks past my "A" triathonlon (IM Louisville) and am now wanting to target the Philly Marathon 10 weeks out....

 

How am I supposed to intergrate the Marathon Hack plan?

  • Marathon hack is for an OS program. It is 3 workouts per week, so sub them in on Wednesday, Sunday run and swap one bike for the third. Keep the other two bikes.

    How much down time did you take after Lou?

    I'm also doing Philly. Hope to be able to catch up there!
  • JCL, I'd probably just set up the hack with a basic week of other training (cycling) with a plan to hit the OS in December once you are 100% done with your year!
  • Just did IMWI this weekend. Planning on a week off then start training for Marine Corps Marathon on 10/30. That will leave me with 6 weeks to train. Any thoughts on how to "hack" the hack to get the most out of the six weeks and maybe even squeak out a BQ time?
  • Tim - I did IM Lou and then took it easy for a few weeks...started with week 6 of the HACK giving me 9 weeks before Philly Marathon...I just started on week 5/6 and am focused on hitting the HACK workouts + 2-3 easy runs of 30-45 min.per week, and two bike rides one interval one long steady...this gives my legs some rest.....
