season plan A and plan B

 

Hi Coaches,

 

I am new to EN and I have been going over the EN stuff and am finding my way around without getting lost as much. J

I have done 4 IMs and 4HIMs.  

 

I am contemplating a change to my original 2012 race plan.

 

Originally, my 2012 plan was to do St. George (5/5/2012) “B” race and Lake Placid (7/22/2012) “A” race. Starting my OS 10/31/11 and that only leaves me 26 wks to St. George.

 

After reading the Season planning tool kit and Stacking EN plans across the season, I have come up with an alternate plan. Starting my OS until 10/31/11

 

Half-Marathon (4/8/12) "B", Half-Marathon (5/6/12) "B", Rev3 Quassy (6/3/12) “B”, IM LakePlacid (7/22/12) “A”

 

The reason for this change, since I am new to EN I would like to do the complete phases 20wk OS- 2wk transition-12-16wk IM with a transition of 1-2 weeks before race prep. 

 

If I had done the EN plan last year, then it would be easier to make the call and plan my season around that. 

 

What are your thoughts on original vs new?
