Pre OS, OS Training

Just a question to those listening...I took 2011 off from racing as I needed a mental and physical break.  I'm signed up for IMLP and Ohio Triple T (May) for next year.  I've done a fair share of riding and moderate to easy running this past summer.  Any suggestions for the next few weeks before the OS officially starts?

  • Monika from a running stand point I would start to build back up your base and throw into each of your runs some stride work. The OS is like no other. We tear things up sort of say. It is the hardest damn training I have eva did but loved every minute of it.
  • Monika - just getting back in the groove after a couple of needed weeks off.

    This week, I'm running about 40min fartleks X2 (Tues and Thurs) and biking about 1.5hrs X2 (Tues and Thurs) @Z3. Mon/Wed/Fri - swim easy. Sat = Kona "Underpants Run" for about 3mi @Z1 and then it's showtime Sunday with the Bike Test.

    This might even be too much, but I have a sprint race 30 Oct and am just using the OS plus the Short Course Swim plans for weeks #17 to #20. Key is to go in fully rested!
