First ironman wanna a be for 2012

1. I would like this ironman event to be wetsuit legal As I'm not confidence in swimming in open water without one. I don't want to do a ocean swim either. I will take a tide to help me, a lake, etc.  I have only been swimming for 2 years as my first ever lesson was in 2009, age 45. Any recommendation will be grateful,

Beach to Battleship. I have not done it, but you will have a much smaller field to contend with in the swim and potentially an outgoing tide to help.

I'll second Beach to Battleship. In addition to the reasons Paul already mentioned... it's in your home state of NC as B2B takes place in Wilmington.
