OS weigh loss challenge
So here's my thought. We could have the Oct, Nov and Jan OS compete against each other for average weight loss on a percentage basis.
I don't want to make this too difficult but lef tme know thoughts on this. Of course it will be pretty boring for the Oct people for 5 weeks until there are some Nov OS'ers but I will still post not for a Wednesday weigh in which I could also keep a spreadsheet for.
The challenge would be very easy say we report in every 4 weeks and at 1/2 way. So 4, 8, 10, 12, 16, and end of week 20.
Let me know your thoughts on this challenge and any additional rules that we should condsider.

@ Gordon, I like this idea. I have registered for IM CDA and REALLY plan onf focusing hard on body comp over the winter. I will be in the Nov OS.
Dave,
I'd say just hook up with which even OS group is closest to the start of you run focus. Weigh in first week check in at the intervals and most imortantly when ever you end, but no more that 20 weeks would be my suggestion.
I'll also be doing a weekly weigh in as well but no real competition there just you and your goal weigh with a date.
@ everyone - As I posted in the dashboard earlier today. I'll try to ge the spreadsheet up later tonight.
Below is a link to the spreadsheet that I have created. Just enter you name and the starting weight. I'll adjust the spreadsheet to do the calculations as we proceed forward. I decided to have weigh in intervals a 4, 8, 12, 15, 16 and 20 weeks.
If you don't post a weight the Wednesday after a weigh in (wk 4, 8 etc) I'll just enter in the previous weigh in or your staring weight. This does not mean you can't come in and change that number after that point. The only hard and fast rule will be following week 20 you will have lets say one week to post up your numbers should you be travelling, forgot, or whatever the case maybe. Ideally you will weigh in on the last day of your OS.
I have also added a Dec OS challenge team, as there is typically several people that start at that time. If there is only one or two individuals, we will have to deal with this at that time. Who knows if there is only a few people in all of the OS groups, perhaps it will become a Oct/Nov vs Dec/Jan.
FInally for those exiting the OS early feel free to continue to post in numbers for 20 weeks. In the event that you want to start a very late season OS beyond January put your numbers in the January OS until May 20th. This will be the cut off date for the challenge. This is a long time for the October OS'ers to watch the scoreboard.

Thanks for playing and look for my weekly weigh in to continue on Wednesday's to keep you honest.

@ Lynne - excellent. The more the merrier. I'm getting set for the November OS start myself. Hopefully my planned 5-7 lbs loss by the start does not handicap my team. Given the amount I could lose this is not really an issue. My goal is ~200lbs by the end of the OS.

Chris,
So true those of you in the JOS will be hunting us from behind. Not to mention Thankgiving, Christmas and New Years parties are not a burden to you but an advantage should you choose indulge.
Gordon
not........
indulge......
stay on target, stay on target,...
okay, I'm in. didn't see this thread before today (I took some time offline after IMWI - hmm... also put on some weight since IMWI - I suspect the two are related).
Looking forward to holding myself accountable.
Go Nov OS!
Becky,
Another one in on the NOS team. With this and my weekly thread for weigh ins consider yourself accountable. I know I'm worried after my mother's birthday and a few extra snacks that the ghost and goblins did not get I've started to track everything I eat again.

Alright November Peeps! It's our turn to get this started. Week 1 weigh in for us. Don't forget to update the spreadsheet.

Are Jan OSer in? If yes...I'm in...
Joseph,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I have created a column for the Dec and January OS'ers in the spreadsheet. So feel free to sign up. I'll send a note through the dashboard to the Jan OS group closer to the start and give a nudge to join the challenge.
Gordon
Kevin,
Yes I have to send a reminder the the Nov OS'ers and the Oct people as I believe there are done week 8 now.
Nice job with the weight loss. I'll get on the scale tomorrow for the wednesday weight in but only down a couple lbs. I'll have to crank it up, or actually down as you are setting a nice pace for the Nov OS group.
Gordon
I can find the OS weigh in doc, but where's the weekly one kept-a different forum? I usually look for it in the dashboard...
Dottie,
