Week # 1

Well the FTP test this am was like i remembered it, {{{HARD}}}.  Its over though.  I am doing as much of my training outside as I can before going to the trainer.  Outside FTP 240 so I lost 10 watts after my accident, I will take it.  I am expecting this will be around 215 on the trainer.  It was a 20 watt bump for me from the trainer to the street.

Looking forward to the vDOT test on Wednesday.

  • UM, the October OS is supposed to start in OCTOBER...not on Sept 26th. image
  • Sorry coach-I loaded it and it prompted me to start on Monday with the FTP test. It must have started me early since my end date is 2/12/12. Sorry for the confusion!!!!!! I will back down a week and then lay it all on the line starting 10/1/11.

    Ready to get this started!!!!
  • Well the vDOT test this am was a bit of a struggle for me. My left leg still does not want to fully flex for me which makes my gait a little funny. I feel like the power and cardio is there but when trying to go faster and stride out I would get some pain so held steady. Rocked out a 22:30 for 3.1 miles. I went from a 49 to a 44. I will make a promise that come week 8 I will be damn close to 49 again.
  •  1st run test in the can:  25:227.25/8:13/mile vdot 37.4.  Wasn't feeling 100% on form today, but it is what it is  I overcooked the 1st mile and paid for it on the back end.  Live and learn.

  • Lynne-
Please post that question in the macro portion of the general training for feedback. Ii just dont have the best answer for you. I think it would be hard to get your rolling average over 42 minutes without a HRM but anything is possible. Again the general training forum.

    Thanks and welcome aboard

  • Greg-
We have all cooked ourselves trust meimage. By the week 8 test you will have learned to pace yourself both on the run and bike. It's fun to see the huge gains we make by week 8!!!! Keep it up
