Very interesting.  what do any of you PM users think?  Is this what we have been waiting for?

  • Looks very cool... BUT, I'll give my real opinion in 2 yr's IF it is actually released by then. I have to believe that Garmin and Polar have deeper pockets and more resources than these guys.

I'll be sticking with my PT for a long while. I'm pretty sure most SRM and Quarq users will too.
  • Price point will be a big thing with these. IF they end up being super cheap, like $500-600 or even less, I bet they sell like crazy!

In fact, if they are that cheap, I would even buy a pair just to see what happens and compare data with my PT.

    Cool find!
  •  Never wait for vaporware. The Garmin/Polar pedal unit STILL hasn't been released after two years of blogs/trade show exhibitions. And then there's the real world use factor to wait out, to say nothing of suser support over time. If you don't have power now, it's OK to wait a SHORT time for the latest upgrade of a proven system - PowerTap/Joule - but not for this.

  • these have been around for about a year now and it doesn't ***appear*** they have made a ton of progress.

anohter really good idea if they can pull it off. What I like is the no need to switch anythign on the bike at all as everything is in the cleat.

That said, I'm worried about the durability of the sensors in a cleat that gets walked on and beat up and also having the electronics pod on top of the shoe and about the cable that connects it to the cleat. I know some of my cycling shoes have scuffs in the same spot the cable goes. For roadies, i would worry about if they slide out and their shoe hits the ground and breaks the cable. For triathletes I'm currious what it will be like having your feet barefoot on top of the shoe with the pod there. Hopefully this will all be no big deal.
