Questioning the weekly run in Week 17 HIM Intermediate

Im getting a little concern about the overal HIM plan.  Wednesday training there was a error in the plan. Now I see Thursday, has a 15 min run at zone 2 with a 10 min rest and then 25 min at zone 3 with a 10 min rest, then run remainder at zone one.  Do you really need a 10 min rest in zone 2 before you do 25 min in zone 3. This is for itermediate HIM plan week 17.

  • @Stephen, I hear you about Wednesday bike. Found it confusing myself, but I think it was intended for those that were not going to test for some reason...wasn't totally clear.
    The run: it really boils down to a "can" and "should." "Can" you not rest 10' before stepping up to Z3 pace, probably..."should" you... is the question. I found the Z1 rest during those long 1:30-2:00+ runs fairly refreshing. I don't know about you, but I was carrying a lot of fatigue by Week 17. Remember, you are a self-coached athlete and the plan is a "guide" based on 1000 athletes with all levels of ability. You can tweak as you see fit, but most of us err on the side of caution, especially with the riskiest discipline, the run. Just my thoughts.
  • Thanks, I feel like Im so close, I just dont want to mess it up now. So just making sure execution of the plan is right.
