Groin pain- who to see?

After my last HIM, I have had serious pain in my groin muscle area. It hurts to sit up in bed. I have rested (literally NO exercise) for over 4 weeks and it is not getting better at all. What kind of professioonal should I see about this, physical therapist, running specialist, ortho doc, chiropractor, ART? Thanks

  • Hi John, I suggest you start with your sports med doc and go from there.
  • My two gut reactions were:
Hernia OR Iliopsoas active trigger point

You would want to rule out hernia first.

Thoe Iliopsoas can linger and is a bugger. Once locked up from combo of wetsuit swim followed by hard bike then hard run. Can really get that muscle going. It can be treated with very targeted release. I would try the trigger point ball in that area.
