Fall Marathon Training and Tri Training

How can I incorporate cycling into my marathon training (Philly - 4+ weeks from now)?  Afterwards, I'd like to start my OS cycling training, and after a two week break from an organized running schedule, I'd like to start my OS running.  Thanks.

  • Kevin, I'd let the runs be the quality and let the cycling be aerobic/endurance. So I'd plan on 2, maybe 3 easy spins, ideally outside or on a trainer, in z1 mainly, z2 just for a little bit. Enjoy the last few days of the fall! Cycling can be an important part of your recovery as well...
  • Kevin, I've converted to doing what Patrick suggested, and am finding it very do-able. Also doing Philly, hope to see you out there!
