Beach to Battleship Plan

 

 

  1. Swim 37 min:  current is helping me:  I have done this course over 30 times:  All have been in chopy water, and bad condtions.
  2. Based on 210 FTP:  First 30-45 min at 160 watttage, then 168 for rest of ride:  3rd gear 176 for the longer hills and 185 for short hills.  Setting 10 min timer to drink Infinite nutrition during the whole bike ride, I would go through 2 16 ounce bottles.
  3. Based on older VDOT 42.16:  First 3 miles 8:57,   next 4 miles at 8:29 and last 3 miles, best effort.
  4. second strategy on run, if bike numbers were not done right on prior training. I would run 8 mins at 8:30 pace and walk for 35 seconds after the first 3 miles. Then all out last 3 miles. So a combo run/walk strategy.  I bring in option two on the run part, cause I think for the last couple of weeks my body has gotten tired of training as i have began this training back in March?

Not so sure on nutrition on the run?  Do most people carry water bottles/stap on waist during the run part?  if so I would use two 8 ounce water with run formula from Infinite nutrition.

 

What do most people wear under a wetsuit for a HIM, knowing the water is going to be 72 degrees'  I am planning on just wearing a DESOTO bib john and their water hat, and blueseventy socks.  Is that safe enough?  Air temp in morning 45 degrees and high 63 for that day is expected.  

So what would you wear under wetsuit, knowing you got to bike and run?

    I think you should wear whatever your race kit is going to be under you wetsuit. With the temperature at 72 why do you need a cap and booties? That seems like overkill to me. Also, you might want to wear your arm warmers under the wetsuit.
    You have to remember you will taper soon and your legs should start feeling fresher as the race nears.
    I use on course nutrition for the run. Many who use Infinit on the run have a separate formula for the run.
