Anyone have problems with buttons on Joule?

I recently purchased the power package through EN including the Joule computer.  So far I love it! However, my only problem has been with the "interval" button on the right of my Joule. It is not very responsive.  I will push it, push it again, mash it, reach up with left hand, eventually use two hands, and then it clicks on.  Obviously not ideal on the road (or at the end of a killer interval).  Wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

  •  Yeah, what I've discovered is that entering the interval mode (getting "Int 1" to appear at the top right of the screen) requires a firm, longer push of the button, like 1-2 seconds. Then, changing to the next interval only requires a quick push. And, of course, to toggle between seeing the current interval data on the screen, and the data for the whoel ride, requires about a 3 second push on the button.

  • Chris and Al, funny how races work, I haven't had a ride all season when the INT wasn't enabled on the screen. Then, on race day of course, it was gone. I had planned on IFing every 30 min. I tried everything on the Joule to get it to INT. Including holding the button down for a few seconds. Only thing I can figure is the road surface had me jumping around a bit and that may have changed the pressure on the button enough to screw the "hold it down for a few seconds" protocol. Then, out of frustration, I hit it, repeatedly. Had to delete about 25 one second files once I downloaded it into WKO+.

  • Seems like I have also found that the int function only works with some of the 6 main field highlited. I don't remember which one, maybe time/distance field that it would not do an interval, but when I moved the highlite to another field, it worked fine. To go from total ride to interval display, you do have to hold it down for a couple seconds as Al says, then to start another interval, just click it quickly.
  • Thanks for the tips. Of course sitting here at my desk pushing buttons it works great. We'll see on my next ride.
  • Dave, good tip, that might be where I went wrong. I guess it's very possible that my highlight was on a field where the INT wouldn't be an option. I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS.

What should be highlighted, Time/Miles or the Work/IF? I'll ride some this week and try it out.
