Dropping zeros (often called NZAP) - if you ride "EN Style" does end up with a number pretty close to the NP. The reason is only coincidental, i.e., that dropping the zeros raises the average a few percent. It has nothing to do with the actual NP calculation. For a long outdoor ride where you already know what you're doing, it works fine and was what I did for a long time. For trainer rides, just use the AP anyway.
Thank God for all you smart people!! I usually have to read these things two to three times before I completely understand you. So my 310xt decided to quit connecting to the computer for my HR strap 10 days before IMFL this year. Paid the 100 bucks and got a rebuilt one sent to me. So basically have a brand new one and not looking to dump money on the 910. Hoping Garmin comes through and gets us the update!!!
