What's on everyone's Christmas list?

Garmin 910?

DeSoto 400mi bibshorts?

New wheels?

Let's hear it.

  • New front teeth.

  • I bought myself my Christmas present already. And I'll use it for my FTP test this week. 910xt next Christmas.
  • 7 seconds per hundred meters

17 watts would be nice as well but I need the 7 seconds more :-)

Anyone know where I can buy either, legally?
  • Garmin Edge 800. I don't need it, but it'd be cool to have for rides in unfamiliar places next summer. In other words, a perfect gift!
  • A new job, hopefully closer to the West Coast (home). I'll be putting more effort into that after IMAZ.

Oh, and a crushing PR at IMAZ!

  • A really good swim coach to improve my form and effeincy. I am one of those 'adult learners' who never learned proper technique - hence I swim uphill and slowly....
  • No broken bones. I've broken something in 2009, 2010, 2011. I'd like to end the streak!
  • Garmin 910XT

and maybe a Zipp 404 front so I won't be blown around the road so much in windy races image
  • Gonna do a lot of warm water races next year so maybe a Tyr Torque Pro or Elite. Anyone have an opinion on which is better?
  • @Paul, TYR Freak of Nature, as long as it's an xmas wish list!
  • @ Scott - looks awesome, but I don't believe it will help me at San Juan, St Croix and Cozumel! I'm doing the southern circuit next year and I already have 4 wetsuits.

Matt -- I think you're probably down to a) lots of the Sufferfest, b) live-in triathlon coach, c) cycling camp in Mallorca.

  • I continue to get "comments" about my 2002 road bike from my friends riding '10-11's with $$$$ wheels from Rich. But I imagine I'll continue to ride the War Horse and not upgrade. I'm scrounging nickels for several snowboarding trips this winter and new-to-me dirbike in the spring.

Robin, I hears ya on the no broken bones. I'm terrified of breaking my hands/thumbs/wrists. Between my 3 hobbies of cycling, dirt biking and snowboarding....yikes!

  • Rich, if the itch ever comes for that new road frame, I know a garage in MA that would love the chance to house a well-broken-in Calfee.
  • A new wetsuit - Not settled on any one in particular but did like my Orca.

    A 910XT would be cool

    Tri shorts

EN gear - tri top, jacket and running hat

    race tires

race wheels - again I need to decide on what I would like.

Realistically though the wetsuit, 910XT and the race wheels are well out of the range we typcially spend so I will have to save for those myself.

  • I kinda want to get a Trek Epic mountain bike for some cross training and thinking about attempting to qualify for Leadville 100 in a year or two.
  • The 910XT is ordered, so in order:

    A 32" waist
T1 First Wave Concept 5 Pullover

  • I've been enamored with this since I first saw it at Nationals

    http://lanegainer.com/products/HALO-KIT-%2d-converts-any-bench-into-a-HALO-swim-bench.html

Got some instructions from Craig (the inventor, I think), and really found it pretty valuable. Nice that they made a version to strap on to any home bench.
  • I'd love a good arrangement for regular coached swimming, as well.
  • Dow of 13,000 and a solution for the PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece, Spain)!

@Rich - you're bike is a 2002...very modern. Mine is a 1992 Bridgestone RB-1...it's so old I could get one of those "classic" license plates if they had 'em for bikes.
  • ...oh yeah...if my wishes come true, then maybe there's a new roadbike in my future.
  • powertap for my road bike - it's got different size wheels from the tri bike

Solution for the PIGS?  You think Santa is a miracle worker?  Their only shot is to devalue their way out but can't do that while still using the EUR.  Oh well.

  • How does one qualify for Leadville?

Is it a technical course or mainly just grinding?

  • hed h3 front wheel.

giant tcr composite road bike.   probably the best bike for the buck out there.

  • Already got this years Santa gifts from the SO... New tri-bike, polar tap/wheel, garmin 500, and membership to EN. Score, score, score!
  • @Roy-you cleaned up this year image For me, I want a 45 minute, 39 second PR at IMUSA in July.
  •  Apparently it's been a good year for Roy!

Leadville is lottery only. Open until early next year. Course is majority single track, but not "technical" in the Pac NW sense, as it's all between 10,000 and 12,500 feet, which is sub-alpine-alpine terrain there. The worst part is the atltitude - tough to train for unless you are there for three weeks ahead of time.
