Splicing SRM wiring
I have a SRM V wired power meter on an S&S coupled tri bike. I'd like to splice in a connector in the cable by the bottom bracket so I don't have to upwrap the cable from the head unit to the bottom bracket when I take the bike apart. Does anyone know whawt I might be able to use? It is a 4 lead cable. I want the connector to be pretty small. Maybe there are some people in the electronics biz that can help. I've googled and looked online quite a bit and I'm not really finding what I want. So any ideas would be helpful. And don't worry, my Dad's a tv repair man and has an ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

I looked into something similar last year, and the electronics shop at my local Future Shop (think 'Best Buy') said it was a easy, while-you-wait job for them.
I don't know but I would think if you took it to an electronics shop they could figure it out and do it for you.
I do a lot of wrenching on my motorcycles but I don't know anything about wiring, electronics, etc. I wish I had them tools and a friend who could walk me through how to do quality work like that.
I've done stuff like this before for my car stereos, for cars where I'd have a big ol subwoofer, and put quick disconnect on it in case I need to take it out.
I'd think more Radio Shack for parts and tools (if you don't have them already). The gauge of the wire, along with how much slack you have, will probably be the most important considerations. I'd also imagine that you'd want unique connectors and/or colors, so there's no connecting the wrong leads.
Also, I imagine that your SRM, if it's wired, is out of warranty, right? If you're still in the warranty period, be cautious - as your modifications will void it.
