not typically. just body weight as far as I know. most of the higher level cyclists I know all have high end bikes that are essentially the same weight +/- a lb or two.
Jim, good question. The short answer is no, because that's what people have always done. So, when you see the chart in WKO+ or the Coggan book, that's just for body weight.
Separately, it explains, in part, the Lil peeps phenomenon. If you're 120, and racing with a 20 pound bike, you're adding 20% to your weight worth of bike. However, if you're 200, that same bike only adds 10% additional weight. That's why, in retrospect, the metric should have been established looking at body weight plus bike. Alas, that ship has sailed...
