WKO vs Data Tool Pace Zones
I'm embarassed I never looked before, but when I was looking over my data from todays run I noticed the IF was much higher than it should have been for a Z2 out/Z3 back run. I glanced at the "pace training zones" in WKO where I had dutifully entered my threshold pace weeks ago, but looking at what they consider Z1-Z5x, they are very different than the "data tool" calculation for zones. I had never compared!
Now, this may not seem to be be a big deal, but in TSS and IF it is as it is calculating it at much higher figures as the WKO zones are lower than what Data Tool has us running. I'm a data nut and would like to get credit for what I've done (but not for what I haven't), and these seem well skewed.
Any thoughts? What do others do?

I noticed that there are a numbr of ways to 'calculate' the zone's in TP. I'm not sure which of the available calculation methods is most closely coupled with the method used in house. I _think_ you can modify the zones on the fly too.
I have no experience with WKO or how it may or may not use the zones available in the rest of the TP tool suite. I would love to find out more though!
Thanks. I feel like a bonehead for overlooking that. I was always suprised that my IFs on modest runs were so high - I'm not the best at pacing, but when the blue line on the PMC chart is going up, up, up why look to slow the slope (see also: tech bubble, housing bubble, stock market in general).
In retrospect, since Coggen/Friel use different protocols for measuring "threshold" it would be not surprising that their zones would change for that too. For instance, they use a 10K TT for run threshold instead of a 5K that is then extrapolated to other distances and Vdot. Similarly the bike protocol is a 95% of a 20minute (or in some cases 30 min) TT after a "blowout" 5 min VO2 and spinups.
With new Zones this week, I'll be sure to recalculate so I can be more honest with my training.
I use a SRM w/ PC7 and can enter my power training zones manually via laptop. SRM PC7 then displays which "zone" you are in 1-5. I don't worry so much about running zones, just memorize EN zones for pacing at my VDOT and remember them during my runs.
On the run zones there are no gaps, so you just manually enter each of the zones into WKO+ as laid out in the Data Tool generated numbers based on your latest testing results.
