  • Wow!!! Congratulations Al. It was as exciting to read the report as to be there.
  • Al is the human heat calc app. image I love it...following you was just so inspiring as always. They should set nuclear clocks by your consistency. image
  • Big cheers in the household to see you bring it in.

Will be drawing on your energy as I go for it in 2012.

  • Super job Al! With a bum foot nonetheless. Admirable effort!

  • Great comeback, great race, and great race report. Very inspiring for someone trying their own comeback of sorts.

Oh, and the finish line photo .... that needs to be filed under "the thrill of victory".
  • Awesome job Al! It's been amazing to watch your comeback. Congratulations on the win!
  • Al - Congratulations! Loved reading your RR and enjoyed listening to the podcast. The wisdom that you share accross the forums is greatly appreciated. Nice way to cap off a long recovery!

  • Al-- I'm taking a little longer than you in my comeback (body just didn't let me really race anything long all year) but I'm slowly feeling like I will regain the endurance again. This is just one word for me in my extended comeback: INSPIRATION!!!!
  • Al - Congratulations. I read the long version and what an amazing story. Well done.
  • Al,

As all have said above you are amazing in so many ways! Physical capabilities, race execution, tactics, strategy, writing skills, experience, plus a willingness to share all of this and more with your team mates.

The high point of my race was the time I got to spend with you on the run. Thank you for being “tour guide” I could think of none better! You may have noticed that I spent a chunk of time just off your shoulder. That was the best point to watch and learn from the master teacher. I could tell you were on track for a great day!

What a great comeback, enjoy Kona!

    Your Mindful Student
