Question about bike workout length, including intervals

General question about the workout length in the OS plan. It seems like the bike workouts don't match up (when you add up all of the intervals) to what the given length is.

Case in point, today's workout (NOS Int. ) is supposed to be a 75 minute bike. In that time, there is a 10' warmup, plus 3 x 3' (1"), then 2 x 12' (4') @Z4, then 2 x 15' (2') @Z3. Assuming a 5 minute cooldown after that last interval, if you add all of that up you get 91 minutes.

So, is it better to do a 75 minute workout and cut the last Z3 interval out of MS2, or is it better to get all of the intervals in and just bike longer than prescribed?

  • Do the workouts as you have calculated it out above. R & P are not known for their math when it comes to counting how long an actual work out takes. If you find that you don't have the time, then try and get a good warm up done in 10', then hit the MS (Main Set)
  • LOL. Yes, this seems to be a frequent question!  +1 to Keith.

Get w/u and main set above all, if have the time and not too fatigued, do full wko as you calculated.

  • Yeah, on days with big bike workouts and bad math I truncate the warmup to 10'.
  • We did our best to fix all these workouts before the OS started...please send the workout name (if you can see it) or at least cut/paste it into the support tab on the right so rich can find it and fix it, thanks!
