Annual Christmas gift advice thread for husbands!
OK...8 days to go and no presents for DW have been purchased. When asked she says, "all I want is a clean house"! Clearly there's got to be more. Please bring the advice...and quickly! She's not a triathlete by the way, so no, I won't be getting her an aero helmet or new pink bike jersey!

Gift certificate for maid service? I would love something like that. I mean, keeping on top of the house is hard enough, but getting it past surface clean requires more time than I usually have available. I'd probably even take that over a pink cycling jersey!
Along those lines, anything that lets her spoil herself - massage, mani/pedi, gift certificate to a really nice hair salon... Or something nice for the house - like some really good framed art or beautiful frames/mattes for family photos. A weekend away at a B&B (NOT a race weekend )
Other than that, what are her hobbies and passions?
If you give a massage, etc. make sure you also give her "time off" or permission to go relax. If it's an hour massage, give her 3-4 hours so she can actually go soak in the hot bub before or drink some team afterwards. And, don't make her feel guilty about the rest of the day. What else....weekend away? Night out to dinner & show but in a different way-like a limo ride or something? All of these sound extravagant, but Groupon, etc makes things pretty reasonable...good luck!
Listen to Mary Louse-Parker. Women are into anything with effort. Just cut the brownies out in the shape of Christmas trees, or something like that.

p.s. The cleaning idea is grand.
p.p.s. The LUSH Store is your friend. (Sympathy for the Skin rules. Minnesota is cold. It helps. http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/body/hand-and-body-creams/sympathy-for-the-skin)

p.p.p.s. Is there anything your wife likes, but won't buy herself very often? A magazine she likes, but doesn't have a subscription? A pile of mystery/romance/detective novels? Downtown Abbey on DVD?
And, if none of that will do, my universal gift everyone loves: K Chocolatier vodka balls: http://www.dianekronchocolates.com/
X1,000 on the maid service. Splurged for the every two week treatment blaming my 1st IM a couple years ago and STILL have them. My DH agrees it is TOTALLY worth the stress reduction. It is really a load off the mind the for the lady of the house. Even if you do it once you'll be a hero!!! And she even brought it up so you can't go wrong!
