Winter trainiung
Hi all, i have a quarq power meter in my crank and could not get it to read to my garmin yesterday on an attempted ride outside at about 20 degrees. Has anyone exsperienced this problem. Does it freeze up, or is this stock battery not good enought to work under cold conidtions.

Never heard of that issue. Does it work today on your trainer in the warm house???
Thanks jeff, yes i got it home yesterday and didnt want to throw in the work out so i set up on the trainer and it worked just fine. no problems other then in the cold yesterday. i was going to try it in my garage today where it stays around 45 degrees and see if it works. Its new enough that i have never taken it outside yet, yesterday was the first.
I don't know about that specific device, but I know that batteries in general have a difficult time working in the cold and I have had issues with batteries before in freezing weather. I would call someplace that supplies batteries to Alpine climbers and see what they recommend. Your headlamp has to be working on an ascent of Everest after all...
Yes cold is a problem for the quarq.
Need to do the back peddle zero thing after a bit after going from inside to outside.
But your detection issue... Try new battery. Pinch the battery contacts so they are good. If not fixed, send back to quarq for a fix. There is a batch that has had an intermittent contact problem, that, in my experience, gets worse with cold.
I had been frustrated because it took me two quarq mailings to get the things finally fixed. Meanwhile, two ironmans with mis-information. But they do have great customer service. I am starting to believe in the product again.
