I placed an order for these about 6 weeks ago and received them earlier this week.
It basically takes all this:
and replaces it with just this:
Amazing, huh?
Yes, it's $250 but it cleans up the aerobar area and drops a lot of weight. Simple and elegant design. Trek should feel stupid they didn't think of this when designing the bike.

That said, IF you want to run the bars parallel with the base bar and don't need as much elbow pad position adjustment, the TriRig setup is awesome and much better.
To me it is kind of like integrated aerobars/basebar/stem vs individual componets. The integrated setup is sexier, maybe more aero, and problem weighs less, but you have less options when it comes to fit. If it fits you right, then you are in luck and go with it, but it wont work for everyone or every bike.
Good points, Matt. I was a prime candidate for the TriRig clamps as I run my bars parallel to the base bar and don't fiddle with the pad position (although you can still get six different pad positions with the TriRig setup). It also widened the space between my aerobars by 1/2" to 2/3". That was an unexpected benefit. I always thought the stock setup was too narrow for me.
The only issue was pad stack dropped a wee bit as the clamps are shorter in stack height than the default setup. There's no spacer combo that can get me to the same height. Adding the next smaller spacer makes it slightly higher than I had before. I'll try the lower position and see how it works out. We're talking a few millimeters at best.
I have a set of the tririg hardware and found that I could not get a good fit with them. If anyone wants to buy mine go to the classified section
