IMMT Training Camp
Hi gang, yesterday I headed to Mt. Tremblant for a fact finding mission. My goals were to do some sight inspections on some hotels. Before I left for Tremblant I searched for hotels that had accomodations available for Fri Jun 29 - Sun Jul 1, that were close to the race site, and were somewhat affordable (we are talking about a ski resort $$$$)
I found 3 hotels and with stats in hand we headed out the door. Oh my gosh. Little did I know that it was one of the busiest weekends of the year. It was super crowded with skiers and people checking in, etc... so needless to say I recieved some good service and some not so good service with my inquries. Here is what I came out with.
All the hotels are located in the village. The first hotel we went to was the best. Although they were busy, they gave me the attention I needed to see the rooms and ask a couple of questions. The rooms had kitchens with new stainless steel appliances, a living room with a fireplace and a upper level with a bedroom. The room sleeps 4 as the couch is a pull out. These rooms will be 350.00 for the weekend (that is tax included), however I may be able to get a better rate, as the manager asked me to contact him about how many rooms I would want to book and he would be able to give me a better rate (I will do that this coming week). The rooms look like they were newly renovated. The hotel lobby and hallways were very clean as well. I asked about a room to meet, and they do have one that will accomodate 25 people and if we were to book a group of rooms he would give the room to me for free (there usually is a fee) and..... they usually charge 10.00 a day for parking and he would include that in our price.
Here is the hotel: http://www.canadianhotelguide.com/c...hotel.html
The second hotel I was not impressed with. It seemed a bit old. It looked great from the outside, but when was able to talk her into to showing me a room, it felt old. She seemed not to know what the price of the room would be, so she thru out $180.00 a night. She had no time to let me know anything else. Here is the hotel. http://www.canadianhotelguide.com/c...hotel.html The rooms they are showing on the site is not the room that saw.
The third hotel did not give me anything. She told me that she had no rates she could give me and that i should contact Mt. Tremblant tourist. She could not show me a room because they were booked solid. So where the other hotels, but at least they showed me a room. Regardless to say I was not impressed with her effort. This is the hotel:http://www.booking.com/hotel/ca/place-saint-bernard-mont-tremblant.en-gb.html?aid=306395;label=mont-tremblant-iaUEMbZm*EJ445MFmPnUqwS8165609309;sid=fed05ca732bc410775f4e017509cb04c;dcid=1
So, here is what you will not get from the hotel people - as I was walking around trying to find the hotels a skier took pity on me and asked if I needed some help. He obviously is very familiar with the area. He said that all the hotels are just about the same, but something to note is that Tremblant is a party in the summer. The square has a band every night that is on until 12 midnight. If we want to get sleep we should ask for rooms on the road side, not facing the square, which most people do not want (I will do that when send my emails about group bookings). Also that weekend is a Canadian Holiday (Canada Day weekend), so it is going to be busy.
Now, onto the most important thing - where to eat. The village has many areas to eat. We had dinner at Casey's. They have tables that sit up to 10 people. I asked the waitress if there were other places to eat that were not in the village and she said that they is another village/town about a 10 min car ride away that has plenty of restaurants, so that is good to hear. I am sure that there are also hotels there that are less expensive, but I thought for the training camp that most would want to be close to the race site???
So......what is next? I am going to email about group bookings to the first hotel and I will get back to you all on what comes of it. I still think that 350.00 for the weekend is good and considering that the hotel is in the square where all the action takes place it might be the best option for the training weekend.
Let me know your thoughts. Pics of the surrounding area are under photos.

I think your first hotel is a good call, a gut call as well as it feels right, so go for it!! Thanks so much.
As I was planning out my training calendar, assuming there was no official EN IMMT camp, I figured on doing the IMLP camp and then, since I'm more than half way to Tremblant from NJ, just head up to Tremblant that Sunday evening and spend all day Monday on course - head home Tuesday. But it looks like ur planning on last weekend in June - guess u guys won't do Tinman then? Gotta review my calendar again. I definitely want to ride the course at least once before race day.
