a run a day for a year
For 2012 my New Years resolution is to run everyday (a minimum of a mile or 2, just to get out there running for 366 days-darn leap year ). I'm following the Nov OS-Days that I have EN runs, I do those. Days that I don't is when I do the minimum of a mile or 2-to ensure I don't raise my weekly mileage too quickly. As my body adapts I plan to add a few miles here and there, but nothing too serious since the A-goal this year is IMLP.
I posted here to see if anyone has done something similar and has any experience/advice to share. So far, legs are holding up. A bit of shin tightness, but I think that's because all my "little" runs I've been taking outdoors due to the wonderful weather Chi town has been having so far this January and my legs had adapted to the treadmill.
I look forward to hearing your responses (if any!). Today is day 11 of 366....

Agree with P: (1) this is a huge goal and (2) you'll need to take good care of yourself and listen to your body. One other thing to consider is your shoes. I have a former college roomate/teammate who is a hardcore tri and running person, and when he's done these long series of daily run programs, he uses 2 prs of shoes and alternates them. I am doubtful of the science behind it, but the claim is that it feels better and the shoes hold up better, esp if you're running outside in marginal weather.
'Chapeau' to anyone who has the resiliency, mechanics and mental toughness for it. I have done the 100-in-100 challenge over on ST twice, and each time I was crispy fried by by the end. You real runners are awe inspiring.
