Mobile App - Addition of Paces & Power Zones

R&P,

I'd like to suggest that on the mobile application there be added to the bottom your current run pace zones and bike power zones from your latest tests uploaded in the Data Tool.

I usually have the paces and power zones printed out in my car, but for those times when I'm travelling or head up to the track for my workout it would be nice to have them for reference right there in the App.

Respectfully,

  • Jay,

Right now the training plan system and the Data Tool are in two completely different places/systems and they don't talk to each other. We have plans to build a reworked DT into the site here and, at that time, there might be an opportunity to do what you describe. But I can't give you a timeline on when that might happen.

  • I think most would be happy simply being able to see their current zones from within the app. They don't necessarily need to be integrated into the workouts, although that is ideal.
  • @Joel: You know that the run paces are now dropped into the mobile ap workouts, right? This is a fairly recent (AND AWESOME!) change.

My hope is that the programming boys at EN can integrate the DataTool for FTP and drop in the power zones on the bike workouts very soon. It is my understanding from Rich that these were all on segmented servers hosted in different places and that linking them was impossible. Now that EN has a new virtual home I'm sure they're working to put all the server instances (they use DNN for content management) on one host and that will allow them to query the SQL databases across instances and implement this change. Perhaps you'll get some comment from them on it directly.

  • Actually, I can't find the mobile app - do we have one for Android?
  • @Joel It's not a downloadable app. In your phone browser, enter the address http://members.endurancenation.us/m.aspx This will bring up a page that has your training plan, complete with run paces. Just bookmark the page and make a shortcut to the bookmark on one of your droid screens.

  • Ah...it's a mobile web page, not an app. Thanks!
