Need some help starting over.

 

I’m looking for some guidance on how to start over or do I need to start over ? The whole story is already posted in the forums titled my hospital stay so I won’t repeat the story again. However the long story short is CT scan shows multiple bilateral pulmonary emboli, for short I have large blood clots in the upper and lower lungs.

So I’m off the pain meds now for a week. I’m still giving myself shots twice a day and taking a pill to thin out my blood. Long term goal is to have the blood thinned out enough and allow the body to clear up the clots on its own then stop the blood thinner pill.

Like you I want to move and train. The doctors have given me the green light on that as well. I did jump in the pool for sets of 100’s followed by a treadmill run / walk of ¼ mile intervals for about a half hour Sunday. Yesterday I got on my trainer for ½ hour with a w/u-then 8 min (3) followed by CD. That was done on the fly just because.

Now looking ahead I want to have a training plan. I’m currently in the JOS of course I’m missing a few weeks now and cannot just jump back in because I’m not “ there “ yet.

My goals are to train. I’ve got ok by doctors with exception of don’t ride my bike off the drainer. I live in the Northeast so for now that aint happing… I don’t have any races on the table so my goals in training is to train for a race months down the line. This is an awesome opportunity to get fast starting from scratch with a guy who has a good base.

So team what are your suggestions any and all ideas are considered including weights, yoga, swimming and MMA… well not MMA but I’m motivated.
