Brian, thanks for the info I'll have to give that a try someday. I only ended one workout early and thought it didn't save as I couldn't find it later but didn't look all that hard for it as I had the basic numbers on my Garmin. I just like having the power number's to look at, seems to keep my workouts more focused and not guessing with a trailing HR only method.
anyone using any of the rides for the en workouts. i did one called "williamson" for vo2 max training in the jan OS. tried it the other day, and could not even finish the 3rd set. tried it again today and completed it. these rides are challenging, and right now, some of them are really kicking my ass.
for ~10 min FTP intervals, I have used Goeth, Lamarck, and Hale. Hell Hath no Fury (with Sufferfest Video) has been kicking my butt for longer FTP workout. I usually just use the Freeride for my VO2 stuff, maybe I'll give Williamson a try.
I just did the Donner workout yesterday as a substitute for the 2x12. I even upped the intensity to 102%. It's nice to do the programmed workouts vs. the free rides as I find the comments during the workouts are helpful.
The cool thing about TR is that you can find many different rides that map to the EN style of training. For instance, I just rode Bradley this morning for my FTP ride. It provided 4x10' @ FTP with 4 150% 8' spikes just to wake you up.
Not sure where to post this on ther TR site - didn't see a forum for suggestions. Anyway, first time playing with TR last night and it's really cool. I see myself using it primarily as a nice heads-up display so a couple things that I'd really like to see tweaked are:
-allow the user to select between real-time power or a 3s average for the numerical display as well as the chart - trying to hold 1205 FTP based on the TR display wasn't working witht he variability in actual power - had to resort to my Garmin set to 3s average.
-allow the user to insert marker lines on the graph for several power levels of their choice as a % of FTP. For example, last night I would have liked to have FTP, 120% FTP, and 65% FTP clearly marked out across the graph. I realize there is already a line for FTP but being able to modify the thickness and color would be useful too - I'm about 8ft away from my 24" monitor.
-give an option for "display mode" instead of needing to select a specific workout. Again, this is for when someone just wants to do their own workout but have the display feedback, I just used the 60min free ride last night but it would be cool to have a generic free ride that might start showing a 30min window and then expand incrementally depending on how long you ride...every 15min for example.
-ability to mark "intervals" in the free ride mode by providing a "lap" button on the display or a specific hot key on the keyboard. And then provide metrics for the intervals as part of the ride file.

Pete
That's what his wife said.
Ohhh, just got played by the Starkman. Damn good thing he's ambidextrous.
Just kidding Starkman, your cool.
