Ragnar Colorado
Ragnar is a national relay run series which will add a Colorado event July 27-8 from Aspen to Vail to Breckenridge. This is a team activity, going 180 miles in a series of 30 legs, varying in distance and difficulty. The usual mode is a 12 person team, although teams of as few as 6 are allowed. See this web page for details: http://www.ragnarrelay.com/race/colorado
Anyway, I'm trolling the waters to see if I can interest at least 5 other people to do this with me this summer. Since our house is just outside of Aspen, staging for this would be easy, and could entail a visit to us for a week or more ahead, biking, running, acclimating, etc. Also, I'm looking for support people (non-runners). Feel free to spread the invite out further if you think you might be interested, and want to bring someone else. I'd love to do this with a team spanning generations, and a 50/50 mix between the genders. Although I do have a history of being highly competitive, I really don't care about speed so much as comrarderie here. Note the web page assumes an average team speed of 11 minute miles.
I'm also soliciting possible participants among my local friends in WA, as well as my local tri club.
Comments
I'm bumping this thread as the dates and route have changed. Kurt Anderson and his wife Jan and I are looking to create a 12 person team to run a 180 mile relay from Breckenridge to Snowmass, CO (where I have a house) on Sep 7 and 8th. We're looking either for CO locals, or anyone who wants to fly in, and, if you like, stick around in Snowmass for a time to ride/train with me. I'll be there until Sep 23rd. Respond to this thread or PM me. Below is web site:
Ragnar Colorado Relay, 2012
interesting... this is now AFTER IMMT, might be up for it....
@ Scott - it would be the right time to gear back up for Florida
Al:
I may be in for this. Gotta make sure i get clearance from the General, but 1) this sounds like fun, 2) I've always wanted to do one of these, and 3) it would be nice to meet some more of my EN team mates in person. I'm local, so logistics would be fairly easy if my wife approves.
