just thinking about this weekends In vs Out ride....

taking the saturday bike wko outside this weekend. that's a good thing.  have no clue what my indoor vs outdoor delta is this time.  that's the bad thing.  I don't think it's as big as last year since I'm confident that I'm pushing more 'gun to my head' on my indoor tests than last year.   Gonna bump 10-15 watts for my work intervals and see where that goes, how it feels.   Will also extend the 12' intervals to 15' intervals to allow for the downs on the rolling hills.

any other ideas?

I will test outdoors, but a little later in the spring.

I did search, saw alot on this, thought about just mentioning this on the Dashboard but then I made this longer than it really needs to be.....

  • I got out the past few days and forgot to adjust my ft from the trainer. After riding on Skyline Drive (all climb and descend, the most perfect interval venue in the world, thank you for your federal tax dollars) I looked at the numbers and thought, like George Costanza, I'm back! And then I tacked on about 15 points and, well, decent work anyway.....seemed too easy and it was.

I up my ft about 5% when I go outside and work up a steady 4-6% grade on intervals, and swag a bit less on the rolling to flat.
  • Just SWAG and work! Have fun!

  • swag and reevaluate.

def will have fun, gonna try to work the buds for a couple of hours.

Chris - last year I had absolutely ZERO delta between indoors and outdoors.  In fact, I saw a decrease on one of my tests, but that is for a different thread.

    x2 on SWAG and go.

Enjoy your outdoor ride.  Down in these parts it is rainy with Tornado Watches.  Oh Joy!

  • bailed. went down to the cave. it's like I was brainwashed. or like the groundhog. maybe tomorrow, maybe next weekend. doesn't matter.
