Uses for an old tri bike

So I've got an old tri bike that I'm trying to decide what to do with it.  It's a small brand (Blue) so the resale value is pretty low and I don't want to give it away.  I also don't really need a spare.  I'm more interested in building it up into something else. But I don't know what.  I could take a bunch of components and move them over to a XC frame but I'm looking for other options.  Anyone done anything interesting with their old bike?

  • I know a couple of folks who've built older tri frames into an aero road bike. Definitely gets some looks, but requires some monkeying with seatpost and or seat position to get to a more 72 degree seat tube angle. Worth thinking about...
  • Any chance that it's a size a teenager could use? In my area there's always some 13 year old who wants to get involved in triathlon who can't really afford to buy a pricey bike. If appropriately small, you could rent/loan it out for a year while the kid(s) grow out of it.
