Garmin 910XT and WKO+

AMong the several problems I've discovered w/ my 910XT I just got last Sunday (yes I've downloaded the firmware update) is the apparent inablilty to communicate proper pace and NGP w/ WKO+. I'm getting 1-2 min/mi slower pace and NGP despite the time and distance mathing both Garmin Training Center and Connect Garmin. I've also uploaded files from both Connect and TC into WKO+ trying to see if it was a TC issue. This is killing my run TSS and I'm having to either manually correct/SWAG my TSS or add enough garde manually to equal the pace I actually ran. Anyone else having this issue? Besides George SMith that is?

  • I Just noticed that as well.

Not sure what it is about.

I also can not get mine to count my strokes or pool distance that I swam.
  •  This is interesting to see.

For the pool, my 910 is pretty close for distance.  The first time in the pool, I maybe got 100yds freebie distance, and this morning, I got only 25 yds freebie distance.  Both of these workouts the watch measured 2250 yds, and 2075 yds.  I was watching this mornings workout pretty closely as I was doing 100 repeats.  I'll have to actually count some strokes next time.   It's definitely working better for me than the Swimsense.

For running, it's been doing well at keeping track of the distance.  I've been working to get back to 16-18 mile runs as I need to spend some time at these distances to work out nutrition issues.  During my first/last marathon, I experienced stomach cramps that started to appear at about mile 14-15.   I don't know if the cramps were due to nutrition concentration, or lack of it.

  • I swam 3 times at 3000 yds each last week w/ SS on one wrist and 910 on other and got 3025 yds from SS and 2725 yds from 910. Almost a 10% error rate is not acceptable to me. Can't blame swim stroke since SS picked up pretty much the correct yardage. Less than 1% error.

Wishing I'd stuck w/ 310 and SS and my $450! Although I did a 100+ mile ride today and SRM PC7 display and 910 had IDENTICAL average wattage! Pretty impressive after all the complaints about 310XT not recording power from ANT+ PM's.

  • Thx. I had my local friend start the thread since he is having same issues as is fellow EN'er Geo Smith.

  • I also posted a question to DC Rainmaker too on the 910 review page.

Didin't knwo that - I thought I post the link here as there are more probably more eyeballs on that than in haus and more likely to get an answer.

Hope you get it sorted out soon.

  • oh no, definitely appreciate you sending me the link Cary. Just funny to me that I had that question posted by a friend here in SC!

  • Did a master reset on 910 at suggestion of Garmin. I can report the bike data is still the same and dead on or within 1 watt, the trail run data is exactly the same as before reset and consistently short of mile markers per 305, 405 and 310.

Will swim w/ 910 and SS tomorrow AM and see how yardage compares now. Not expecting improvement...think it is the watch and reset only served to cause me to spend last night rentering my info and repairing w/ PM, footpod, HR strap etc.
